As a concerned Florida voter, I’m writing to urge you to close the job-killing Internet Sales Tax Loophole. A sale is a sale—whether it’s made online or on Main Street. In these tough economic times, the last thing we need to do is punish the small businesses that are invested in our economy, while rewarding out-of-state internet giants with special tax breaks. These tax breaks are making it tougher for hometown merchants while exposing consumers to dangerous tax risks. Florida’s small businesses can and should compete on a level playing field. But that’s just not possible if some businesses are allowed to play by a different set of rules. Let’s close the loophole and keep Main Street open for business.
